It all began in 2009 during our 1^st Nauvoo visit during pageant. The beautiful flowers, abundance of trees, and open grassy areas among the historic sites plus proximity to the mighty Mississippi River left us wondering. “What does Nauvoo look like during the other seasons?

During a second trip to Nauvoo the next year to assist photographing the pageant, we again had the same question in mind and searched for a photography book showing Nauvoo’s seasons. What did we find? None. Nada. Zilch. That was when the book idea hatched and dream began.

Realizing quarterly visits would be inadequate, we decided to leave Florida and move to Nauvoo. (We can see your raised eyebrows about now…..yes we flew north and were told, “You’re not snowbirds, you’re dodo birds!” Ha!!) Now, several years and thousands of images later, our book dream is ever closer to becoming reality.

The Seasons of Nauvoo: Year-round Imagery of the City Beautiful 12×10” hardcover book will have 144 pages of colorful images divided into four chapters, one for each season,.
